2021 | Sea to Sea Expedition - Florida

A tragedy occurred toward the end of this race as one of the teams was struck on their bikes by an automobile- killing one competitor, and injuring his two teammates. We decided not to write a race report for the Sea to Sea, and instead, posted a tribute to Capt. Troy Manz and his team on our Facebook page:

For many, it’s hard to understand the desire to risk personal safety in search of adventure. For some of us, that’s where we feel most alive.

When a crushing hand is dealt, and one of our own pays the ultimate price, the community gets a gut punch. We are shaken to our core, knowing how devastated their family is. Their source of strength, prematurely taken.

While we didn’t personally know Capt. Troy Manz, we felt like we did. A shared zest for life. A fire to chase it down with passion.

Our hearts are heavy thinking about Troy, his team, and their families.
